The evaporated body is here and there. A singing voice coming from beneath the soil, even. (~2022)
This work re-examines Marcel Duchamp's "The Large Glass" from the standpoint of the body in sickness or being injured. While the artist empathizes with the superimposition of Duchamp's cynical "desire machine" and the ridiculousness of human desire, she turns her attention to the vibration of the fragile body which seems to slip away from such desire. As water evaporates, circulates, and leaks, drowning out the poetry, the reclining machine precariously repeats disconnections and connections.
